Buckingham Fountain day b&w 1013

This panoramic photograph of Buckingham Fountain was taken by Brad Cavanaugh. This view is beautifully backdropped by the night lights of the Chicago skyline. Kate Buckingham donated the fountain to the city of Chicago as a memorial to her brother Clarence Buckingham in 1927. The fountain runs everyday from mid April to mid October. The center jets shoot up 150 feet and it contains 1.5 million gallons of water. The sculptures created by Jacques Lambert were modeled after Latona Fountain of Versailles.
