Phoenix, Arizona

Featured on the right is Bank One Ballpark, a 49,075-seat, retractable-roof stadium that serves as home to the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team. Left of the ballpark is American West Arena, home to the Phoenix Suns basketball team. Phoenix, the capital of Arizona, lies in the Sonora Desert surrounded by mountains. This city is the sixth largest in the U.S. and may eventually become the fifth largest as warm temperatures and low humidity spur continued record growth. The area is often referred to as the “Valley of the Sun.”
